Water Conditioning

What is conditioned, or soft, water?

Conditioned water is water that is, in essence, free of minerals like calcium and magnesium. When water is conditioned, it not only solves the obvious water problems of hard water build-up, rust stains, and sulfur smell. It also helps your pipes and appliances to last longer and run more efficiently. You use less soap and detergents, which also saves you money.

Water is softened by entering a water softener that contains sodium chloride or potassium ions. A chemical reaction occurs, causing the magnesium and calcium in the water to bond with the softener’s ions. The water that leaves the water softener unit enters your pipes and leaves you with the best tasting, clearest, and purest water available.

How do know if my water needs to be conditioned?
